My Overall Practicum Experience

On my first day of teaching, I felt both excited and nervous as I stood in front of the classroom.

It was my first time being a real teacher, not just learning about teaching in theory. From that moment,

I knew this practicum would be an important journey for me to learn and grow.

Purpose of the Practicum

The main purpose of this practicum was to gain real teaching experience, improve my teaching skills, and develop my English communication in an international environment. From my experience,

these goals were successfully achieved. I had the chance to teach real students, apply different teaching methods, and use English in real classroom situations. This experience truly met my expectations.

 

What I Did During the Practicum

- During the practicum, I started by observing my cooperating teacher to understand teaching methods and classroom management.

- After that, I designed lesson plans based on the national curriculum and discussed them with

my co-operative teacher.

- Then, I implemented my lesson plans in real classrooms through group activities, discussions,

and interactive tasks.

- At the end of each lesson, I reflected on my teaching and received feedback to improve myself.

What I Learned

This practicum helped me improve many important skills. I became better at lesson planning,

classroom management, and organizing activities. I also gained more confidence in speaking English

and teaching in front of students. Moreover, I learned how to adjust my teaching to suit students’ needs and how to make lessons more engaging.

 

Challenges I Faced

There were also some challenges during my practicum. Time management was one of the main difficulties, as some activities took longer than planned. Another challenge was giving

clear instructions, especially during group activities. Some students also felt shy and were not

confident in speaking English. To solve these problems, I simplified my instructions, gave examples,

and encouraged students to participate more actively.

 

Suggestions for Improvement

For future improvement, I would like to manage my time better during lessons.

I also want to improve how I give instructions to make them clearer and easier to understand.

In addition, I would like to use more interactive activities and digital tools to make learning

more engaging. I believe that with more experience, I will become a more effective teacher.

 

Overall, this practicum was a very meaningful and valuable experience. I really enjoyed teaching

and interacting with the students. It helped me understand that teaching is not only about explaining content, but also about supporting students and creating a positive learning environment.

This practicum was not just an experience, but an important step in shaping who I am as a future teacher. It helped me realize that teaching is not only about knowledge, but also about inspiring students

and supporting their growth. I am confident that this experience has prepared me to become a more capable, creative, and passionate English teacher in the future.
